Mahi Mahi Adventures 06 - Newest Video

Dolphinfish action from the weekend. Unfortunately having to drop the quality of the video to make it downloadable size ruins the colours a bit, but you get to see some of the awesome jumping action which the still photo's don't show. Hope you enjoy!

Using a little applause 4000 on a 4-7kg sports stick with 6kg braid. Wasn't using any leader which seemed to have better hookup rate than the boys that did :)

Mark has a avex sx on a livefibre. I think :)

I was using an avet sx on a 6 - 8kg livefibre overhead rod running 14lb braid (I think). I dont think the rod appears in the video but.

I may have struggled for hookups a bit more because my wind on leader was 60lbs - probably a bit heavy for those conditions but it is more universal for trawling and inshore bottom bouncing at that weight

I think Adam had a better hang of letting his drift bait drift at the same pace as the berly trail which resulted in a better hookup rate. Except for the 1st one of course hey Ad's ;)

I take it the 'peen' applause is the new model boltz, is it helping your catch rate??? :)

The PeenUS applause 4000

Wed, 2006-03-22 20:04

The PeenUS applause 4000 must be a different company to Penn-United States Applause 4000 right?
