Guys,

Hope you enjoy the footage shot with a little Sony cybershot digital camera. The dhuie went 13kgs and was caught on a whole squid using my patented home made snell design that has accounted for all the large fish seen on the three video's. The secret is to hide the bottom hook and wire inside the mantle and thread between the eyes, then the top hook goes through the top of the mantle, with the fluro tubing showing just above. This rig has worked on big dhuies, big snapper, sambo's queenies the lot. It provides excellent hookup rate and holding power.

I also use a slightly different version with whole whiting with one hook through the gut with point facing down and the top hook through the jaw and up through the nose with point facing up. Again maximum hook up rate using this set up.

I fish pretty light as you can see by the rod & reel combo I used in the first clip. An Okuma convector left hand wind with 30lb braid and a lightish rod. So a good drag setting is essential.

There's plenty of fish out from Mindarie, just give it a go and try and find new ground.

Just wondering though... what sort of depth are you doing most of your fishing in? You seem to be getting some excellent results. Lately we have not been giving enough effort to bottom bouncing instead chasing Sambos and.... pelagics?!?!
