Update on Carnarvon Jetty

Time for a bit of an update on Carnarvon jetty repairs. The work barge/pontoon has been commissioned and work has started on replacing the burnt out section. They have had a few loads of timber arrive from down south as well as some unwanted power poles from Lake McLeod salt mines with compliments from Rio Tinto.
They expect it will take approximately 4 months to fill the missing section of the jetty.

There will be quite a bit of work to be done at the outer end due to the workers not being able to gain access to it,how long this will take is unknown at this time.As soon as I hear something you will be the first to know.

The train is still doing its run out as far as the missing section,if you are in town please take the run out or make a donation because the funds are still needed

I know quite a few members love fishing at the Carnarvon Jetty (me included) and it is good to know things are starting to move along.

They have hired 4 men,two to work from the pontoon and two up top. They use the train to haul the timber out from their shed onshore.
