did it stop and lay much or was it all up and go...hows your back and arms feeling...I struggle with rays half that size might have to change your nic to the "Rayman"
Yea man he pulled the typical ray moves once in close. At one point we saw him swimming parallel to the beach maybe 15m out, all of a sudden he stopped and almost instantly it looked like it had shrunk to half its size, all but the head was berried in sand. Amazing how quick they can do it.
Mate that is great and good to see you finally get your arms streached for all the effort you put in. Next hopefully we will see a nice pic of a big LB shark capture well done again that is awsome
mate after bringing that thing in there is no way I could have held my rod up long enough to swim it back out lol. Have a swim bait rig made up now, plan on trying with a slightly smaller model of ray or one of those pup bronzies that are just everywhere atm
This is gonna be hard to believe, hell I wouldnt believe it if I hadnt have been there, but I just got an ass whoopin from a MUCH bigger ray! I would say 200kg plus kinda stuff. One hour and forty mins later after almost being spooled I had him back to about 150m out, and then he sat.... I was gaining back cm by cm before I fucked up, put too much pressure and my cats paw to the windon failed. Human error, no one to blame except me and my lack of patience. Also, perhaps my ability to tie the cats paw as this should be a high percentage join?
lol mate ive hooked into a couple at lano jetty that destroyed me in minutes .... plenty of monster rays around. Hooking them is easy, landing em is the problem.
