pretty sure goldfish is goldfish, carp is a carp, the wild goldfish can grow pretty big since they can live upto 30 years the fish in the pic is a carp.
Carp, along with many of their cyprinid relatives, are popular ornamental aquarium and pond fish. The two most notable ornamental carps are goldfish and koi.

I also believe that is why releasing goldfish into the wild is illegal as they will revert to carp and eat the MARRON.
releasing any unatural captive fish is illegal as some fish are agressive and can kill eat the eggs of natural species, but i still reckon they should have a carp fishing area or pond for begginer fishers, dont know what the fuss is about.

Because a gold fish is only a special coloured carp.

Carp can grow very large, I have seen on on the scales at over 150lbs. This was at a fish show back in the 60s.
