2008 Suzuki 150 HP Oil Leak

Engine Has 320 Hrs on it, was last serviced at 300. Now it seems to be leaking oil out of the leg some where. Has any one else has any issue with oil seals or what not on the suzuki? is it expected only after 320 hrs to be leaking oil? Any info would be greatly appreciated from anyone with some marine mechanical history.

Hi terboz,
I have a 115 mercy that had leg oil coming out of it and all it was was a seal and an o-ring.Cost me $240 to get it sorted and no probs now ,that motor has done 390 hrs.
I don't think it's much to be worry about mate.

somewhere out of the leg
Might need to narrow it down a little.
Theres only a few places it can leak from if its not cracked.
1/ propshaft seal (will leak from prop exhaust or round the prop)
2/ fill or drain bungs
3/ Top of box (but only coz water is getting in and lifting the oil, pretty unlikely)
Clean it and watch to see the source.
Bungs are easy and self-explanatory
Shaft seal could be from fishing line or possibly a bearing on the way out even.
But get onto it now, dont keep using it as is cos it WILL cost you.
Even if its only a bung leaking CHANGE THE OIL. Cos when the leg is underwater the oil will get contaminated.
EDIT+ make sure its not engine oil leaking down from the power head inside-check the colour of the oil your finding and compare to dipstick!

Pretty sure Suzuki has a 5 year warranty, our 2008 does. Take it to the blokes who service it and let them sort it out.

Yerh platniums comming to suss it tomorrow morning, devastating about the weather this weekend if it isnt fixed.. Hes some what confident should only be a couople hundred but you never know till hes exactly looked at it.
