2008 Verado 135hp
Hi All,
Chasing experiences you have had with the above engine.
Currently considering a potential upgrade after approval from the finance minister to step up from the current boat/tinny.
From what I can gather they are competitive in regards to economy with other 4 strokes until up at full noise where they get thirsty?
Reliability seems to be good from what I can find, all concerns seem to to be pre 2006 (gen 1)when the technology was new and un proven.
I'm considering a 5.8m glass boat with this type of engine fitted with roughly 150hrs on it.
I'm happy to be shot down before out laying 40k on it.
Have hit the search function but just chasing any current information crew might have good, bad or other wise.
Appreciate your input.
Cheers
Chris.

out of curiousity, what was the reason for choosing the Verados over staying with Suz or another?
Price, convenience etc?

I guess the worst thing is service cost?
Looking at 900-$1000 for your standard service which is a bit steep compared to other brands

the Verado 135 hes asking about is about 40kg heavier (231kg) than a Suz DF140 (190) or even the Yam 200 (221)

could be , I got the Verado
could be , though I got the Verado weight off the Merc website, even I was pretty suprised.
The DF140 has been built at that weight for 15 odd years
