2012 Fishwrecked Exmouth Invitational Results

Just a quick thanks to all the guys that made it up for this years comp, unfortunately the weather wasn't the best and the sharks were the worst I've ever seen or heard of.  Regardless of that, some cracking fish were still caught and the prizes were spread amongst the group.  We raised 7 bills for the three days, hooked 4 and lost 2 boatside and managed a few bottomies.  Congrats to all the winners for 2012.

Winners were:

Red Emperor : Jody 88cm

Spangly: Alfred 72cm

Rankin: Bodie 80.5cm, Adam 80cm.

Jobfish: Lucky Tim 79cm

Spanish: Jayden 139cm

Coral Trout: Alfred 78cm

Trevally: Dave 92cm

Tuna: Nizzy 102cm

Mahi: Adam 126cm

Land Based: Amanda

Best Photo: Amanda

Most Marlin: Tim/Adam

Biggest Marlin: Tim/Adam - Prize given to Kamo Kings for their sail in average conditions in a small boat.

I have a heap of photos but they are on the other computer, here's a few from our efforts, the rest will go up at a later date or be put up by comp entrants.

Thanks must go to: XTREME DAVE - XTREME COOLERS for the awesome iceboxes, Browny and Fisho-Ron for their prize donations and all competitors and anyone I may have forgotton as its been a long few days (after an even longer comp windup night, oh my liver!)

Cheers,

Adam

Thanx Adam

Fri, 2012-04-06 19:05

Thanx for a great comp Adam & to those who helped & sponsored it. We didnt figure in the results but we had a good time as always. Was great to meet some of the members of F/W & share a few stories, some taller than others haha.   Good luck to Paul G & crew and Simmo & wife Amanda who are still up there cleaning up the ones we missed, though we did manage a 110cm cod & a 74cm trout after the comp. Nuthin like being slow starters  lol.  Look forward to next year i hope & encourage more folks to take part in a fun social event.

cheers & be safe    Rob

Yup

Sun, 2012-04-08 10:29

And the spot was about to light up like a christmas tree too.  Got a good morning of diving in, but when the action was about to start, the action ended.  2 hours of being towed by a mate at 6 knots to peak and then 2 hours towed by azura to the marina.  What can you say, shit happens!  Ahh well, couldn't have picked a better weekend with the amount of boats out there. :)

didnt see a fish

Sun, 2012-04-08 11:37

He didn't see a fish on Friday, got his 8 goldies though.  I think I saw you guys coming in to south passage, we were going to go through on the inside but it was closing out.  We raised a sail a little north of the passage in 65m that ate the lure about 8 times but just didn't stay connected.  I know the S.W boys got a good sail though.  Joy day, hard going on the surface action though.
