22KG Dhuie

Went out to the southwest bank,
6am in the morning and the first drop in, fresh ocy and pulled a nice 22KG dhuie ;)
Catch for the day i think!

Yeah its only some shitty scales. It was heavy and i have caught alot of dhu's this one was a fatty.
Def was alot bigger then the others. Yes its around 22m water about 3km out past rotto. you cant see garden island or anything.

When Dhuie fishing especially when your going around the 20kg mark do you run a 5000 size outfit with 100lb braid or a lil Heavier?
Never been lucky enough to catch one that big yet!

no wonder people get anoyed and dont post pics i know this is a public forum but lets not drive everybody away from posting pics.
Well done on the catch what ever size it was have to be happy to see a nice dhu come up beside the boat and that early in the morning looks nice and fat even if you had old scales

But to make a statement of wieght when it`s clear to anyone worth there salt that it`s not even close make yourself look like a tool,
See it all the time and shits me, if you don`t know the wieght dont guess - get it wieghed properly then you can tell everyone.
In all my years ( 15 commercial ) over 20 Recreational i have probably wieghed less than 10 Dhufish estimating that they would crack the magical 20kg ( gilled and gutted ) and guess what 19.8kg was the biggest of the lot.
Now i have seen hundreds of people claiming to have 20+ kilo fish only to have a look and guesstimate them to be around 10 - 12 kg mark.
Next Time you catch a good fish guess the wieght- ( dont underestimate cause you gonna try prove a point be honest with yourself ) Then on the way home swing past a butcher or some one with certified scale and wieght it and you will be very surprised as to the actual wieght i bet.

Agree with Boomer's comments. some of the fish pic's posted are great catches, but why state a weight that blind fred can see is way off the mark.
By posting a 22kg weight when it would be lucky to hit 12kg is taking the piss and I wonder what sort of idiot the poster think we are.
Its a nice dhu, best eating size IMO, just a shame the post turned to this.
If you cant weigh it, dont post a weight. I would love to see a 22kg dhu caught by a site member ( me! )LOL.
PB for me is 18kg taken on a comp and weighed on cert scales, I picked it to be 20+, funny how when you guess the weight of your fish your never under.
Mikeee.p, nice dhu, and hope you get one 20kg+, but dont take the piss.
