craig , can't see a photo either but good on ya mate , i have caught more macks than anyone will probably ever see and never got one that big, got a trunk that weighed 34 kg once, which according to fisheries calculated to 39.8 kg( which i tsust 100%) and that was the biggest iv ever caught personally. i did see a couple of trunks that went 40 kg from other boats , and saw a head bitten off behind the pec fins that just fit in a fish tub and its estimated weight being 50+ kg.once in a lifretime catch mate, good on you.
heres a hint/.secret / stupid idea. the fella i know that bought in the big macks, the sort of fish that turns heads and re writes record books, used to troll the biggest mullet he could possibly find(were talking 3-4 kg mullet )and log toms that were 2 feet long. he drove the boat i first worked on and his gangs were made up of 6 or 7 10/0 mustad "tarpon" style hooks. i saw him unload a 40 + kg trunk one day that he couldnt put his arms around. it was estimated at 55-60 kg. got one that big yet "bitten"?
