that is a big pinky but i dont know about 44 pounds i have seen bigger pinkies been caught in new zealand on a few dvds i have at home !! solid as fish thought great capture

good solid fish but i doubt it was 44lb looking at the length i would say around 1meter maybe a bit more. a 90 cm  female pinky weighs 9 kg

it's over 110cm

37lb it was, it's the same fish as the one in the original picture above.

it wasn't 44lb but the one on top in the pic below was 44lb check how fat the tail wrist is, the bottom fish is the same 37lb fish again.

theres footage of the 44lb also being landed

bloody beauty mayb the photo doesnt do it justice therefore my guesstimate would b 14-16 kgs got a couple like that myself bout 4 months ago wish i new how to post photos to compare

Have seen a few this size - don't know about the claim at a world record.

Spencer Gulf SA, Land of the big snapper. Can't wait till April - heading over to Port Lincoln for a few weeks (may have to drive a little further north to Tumby/Arno bay).
