Adjusting gain

Hi guys, I have a furuno Fvc 627 sound and am trying to get my setting right. I have managed to set my range, bottom lock and 5 meter setting ok but can't adjust the gain when in that screen as it says auto. I found this pic on line and it is set to adjust gain. Anyone know how to get my manual setting once in the bottom lock screen?

Can't adjust gain in auto
Can't adjust gain in auto mode.
On the 587, press the gain knob, change setting from auto to off, and then the gain knob will adjust the gain.
