ADO - Sweet Meat Run
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Fri, 2020-10-30 18:14
Finally got on the water with work and kid duties killing me lately.
School run then chilled out waiting for the wind to drop but got impatient so roughed it and headed to my whiting patch in 23m. The 12kn easterly (20kn gusts!) made whiting fishing on 1-2kg gear very hard and had trouble finding them but git them after few drifts.
Pretty sporatic but when the wind dropped was getting them more consistantly but when it changed to the SW it switched on bigtime and I was working two rods hard trying to keep up resulting in a few triple headers.
Was picky keeping my 30 and got a good feed for a couple of dinners at least.

Hard to beat a good feed of sand whiting, and always great fun on the light gear...

Well done
I can see the kids asking for a day off school to come out with you. Whiting are a great catch on light gear and give a good account of themselves and keep the kids happy for hours with their vigorous bite and fight and are top grub on the plate.
