Air Berth for Penned Boats

Sea Rescue here in Carnarvon and also in Exmouth have just taken delivery of an airberth for our rescue boats.IMO the best thing for penned boats since the invention of toilet paper.

Normally we have to take the boat out of the water each 6-7 weeks to pressure blast the weed and barnacle growth off its bum, even though its been antifouled. Now it means driving into the berth, turn on a couple of blowers and hey presto the boat is completely out of the water in under 4 minutes.
To drop it back in,undo a couple of leads, remove a couple of caps ,wait 3 minutes, undo the pen ropes and you're on your way.

We were going through 2 x sets of anodes and endless hull cleaning each year, the berth cuts this down to zero.
Haven't been in touch with the Exmouth boys but I would think their reaction would mirror ours, happy as pigs in poo!!

If anyone wants more info please let me know

Looks like an interesting idea. I did see a trailer on floats in the river, so I wonder if it was for the same reason (unless they use a bigger boat to tow the floating trailer, :p)

When you get a covering of weed/barnacles just give it a whack with a hammer. Its made of poly pipe with a wall thickness of 1 1/4 inch so you cannot damage it.Whacking it causes the crap to fall off as its roots cannot penetrate the poly
