Airmar 1kw tranny assistance

I'm looking for some assistance on best set up for this 1kw Airmar tranny. I've adjusted this thing a dozen times and not getting the results I should be. I've added / removed shims. Adjusted it up / down. Best so far is dropped down by at least a inch but have huge rooster into outboard cover. I'm thinking I'm getting a lot of aeration from the down scan tranny and live tank pump. Any advice most welcome.

needs to go lower

needs to go lower and that white tube on the left might be giving you some interferance, the other transducer and pump i think look out of the way enough

the problem with ali hulls is all the ripples that they have compared to a good fibreglass hull, it might look straight but put a straight edge along it and see, I had the same problem and had to lower the transducer a lot below the hull    cheers Ace

 Cheers Ace. I have lowered

 Cheers Ace.

I have lowered it well below the hull and had better results but the rooster was spraying right into a breather port of the outboard so decided to start again as per the instructions. getting pissed off with the whole ste up. The standard Lowrance tranny worked shit loads better. I guess i just need to continue to tinker with her. will lower again and install spray guard.

Thanks for your input

 I reckon your downscan

I reckon your downscan tranny is in the way for a start. I have the same tranny and the best position I got was about 5mm below the keel slightly shimmed back off the transom.

If possible i would swap the down scan tranny with the airmar tranny and i believe it will solve all your problems.

i have considered that but

i have considered that but was thinking the Lss2 would get blocked by the massive airmar in its way.

Cone angle

The cone angle of the lss2 won't be wide enough to hit the tm260 next to it.

Moving the tm260 to the lss2 spot would be your best choice.

When moving the lss2 to the tm260 spot you would be well served by moving it as far to the right of that white pickup tube as you can.
