ALBANY Report
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Thu, 2008-10-23 16:00
Sandra (my wife for those that don't know) and I finally got out from Albany today.
We fished a large reef section via numerous repeated drifts.
Action was full on and consistent, with the following haul
4 - Cod around the 42cm mark - 2 kept, 2 released.
7 - Breaksea (BA) Cod - plus 2 released - largest being my 51cm brute - plus 2 small ones released.
1 - Pinkie (just over 50cm)
1 - Harlequin
1 - Blue Morwong (Southern Queenie)
1 - Sergeant Baker - BAIT!
1 - Snook (Bait!)
1 - Porcupine fish (water bag) - released - useless things
Here some pics:

Really glad you guys had a good day out Colin
It has been a while since you have had a chance to take the boat out.
It looks like the conditions weren't too bad mate.

Agreed #1
Action just didn't stop mate - full on! The only time we weren't catching fish was when I was coming up on the drift! Sandra lost a nice Skippy (30cm plus) and I had an aquatic horse on steriods for a while - DOH!
Yeah - great to be out there again - far too long!

Cheers mate - yeah, PB for sure! This was new ground with plenty of structure for a decent drop session on each drift - definately a good location.

Neander - cheers mate!
Roberta - Yeah, Sandra is TOO good at times - good luck with the squidding! Yeah, did 8,000 chooks after 10,000 the previous night, with a day's active fishing inbetween.
Bloody exhausted when I finally hit the sack last night. Could hardly move LOL!

Cheers for that !
Yeah - we had a 1.0m sea and 1.5m swell - vety low for down here - water was still a bit choppy going out as it was a SE swell - the worst down here.
Sandra was pretty sick of cleaning and filleting fish last night (I was working).
Yup, plenty of good meals in the fridge!

Cheers Ads!.....Cod
Cheers mate - yeah, was good to do well and go out during the week - nice quiet ramp!
Still having trouble identifying that cod. Looking at the teeth and mouth config - the closest I can get to is a tuskfish - can't find any that inhabit southern waters though.
Is there a tuskfish variety that does? Anyone know?
