algae growing on cray pots

had my cray pots out for a few weeks now ,and one in particular has an unusual large amount of algae growing on it ,question will it affect catching and why is this so,its a pro pot not home made / 3/4 any advice would be appreciated

I have heard that's a good thing especially on the plastic pots
