Alkimos/Amberton beach? Worth a try?

Has anyone had any luck up this way?. Girlfriend and her lady crew will be out from Sat arvo till Sunday morning (Ocean Reef is the drop off a pickup location) so i figured why not wet a line.
Dont fish NOR much but ill have a good 10+ hours to soak a bait and see whats what.
At the end of Idyllic View Road there is Amberton Beach, and just north of that carpark i can see (on google maps) a little reef outcrop, could hold some surprises.
Just north/south of the Shorehaven grassy area from what i hear is okay for bread and butter species.
Or i could say bugger it and fish near Club Capricon....
Any advice or suggestions?
Cheers.

Was down on Quinns beach on the weekend and
I caught a heap of good size herring and small whiting for bait for atrip up north. Guy fishing there next to me caught an 8kg pinkie, there have been a few mulloway around there after dark and some tailor on sunset. Its the small rock groin at the northern end of quinns beach, has a small carpark just up the hill from it. There was a bit of weed around but that will prob be gone by next weekend good luck
