Ally boat paint blisters

Hi, just asking if the blisters under paint are just salt reaction. Should I soda blast paint back to aluminium and leave raw. Is it actually doing any long term damage to leave as is. It doesn’t look like corrosion.
thanks

Better to remove it rather than to leave it. It will be moisture/salt under the paint and will be due to lack of effective etching or none whatsoever.
Either way it isn't great and will be the starting point of an issue if left

Yup, lack of correct etching
and under the blisters the ally is chewed away if left untreated

I've got a few I've been meaning to clean up as well. After removal can you just leave the areas as bare metal or do you need to at least spray them with some sort of primer even if you're not going to paint?

Yes you can leave...aluminum
Yes you can leave un-coated...aluminum is natural resistant to corrosion and will form a new oxide layer.
Last thing you want is patches in your paint work but don't leave them to festa.

Cheers too easy then, i was thinking that the paint at the edges of the patches would then start to go but looking at a scrape on the boat now that's pretty old it doesn't seem to be the case

If you do decide to strip and
If you do decide to strip and re-paint, etch prime it on a really really hot day so the paint 'absorbs' into the aluminium.
