This is the BOM Severe Weather Warning
TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST
SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Widespread Damaging Winds with Locally Destructive Gusts
For people in areas southwest of a line Lancelin to Southern Cross to Esperance
including the Perth Metropolitan area, Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton, Albany and
Esperance.
Issued at 9:50 am on Thursday 10 September 2009
A vigorous westerly airstream associated with a deep low south of the state is
expected to cause widespread damaging winds to 110 kilometres per hour that
could result in damage to property. In isolated areas of the Southwest district
and adjacent South Coastal district locally destructive gusts in excess of 125
kilometres per hour may cause significant damage or destruction of property.
Severe winds over the Southwest and Lower West Districts are expected to extend
eastwards during the day, reaching Esperance in the evening. Showers and winds
should peak over the Perth Metropolitan area from midday through to late
afternoon.
Heavy surf conditions are forecast for coastal parts and some beach erosion is
possible. The very large swell should peak on Friday night.
Cape Leeuwin recorded a wind gust to 117 kilometres per hour at 8:44am and Cape
Naturaliste 109 kilometres per hour at 8:43am.
FESA State Emergency Service [SES] advises people to secure loose objects, move
vehicles under cover and stay inside away from windows when severe winds
develop. If caught outside find shelter away from trees, powerlines, storm water
drains and streams. Boat owners should make sure their boats are securely
moored. If driving through heavy rain slow down and turn your lights on or if
visibility becomes low pull over and park until it passes. For SES assistance
call 132 500. For more safety tips visit www.fesa.wa.gov.au
The next warning will be issued by 1:00 pm Thursday

We will have pay back when cyclone season kicks in
The only good thing down here is that there will be heaps of honkey nuts blown out the trees and my chickens will have a few more feathers blown off (Lol).

It is all going to hit Exmouth (Lol) Hope you can fit a fair
bit of fishing in while you are up there Huggy. You will need to give all your new tackle a good testing.

I have a few tackle stretching trips sorted out already Col - patience is a virtue......
And in the meantime I'll continue collecting tackle until I find that sweet place called enoughfishinggeartopia. I may never find it, but I must continue the search.
