Another fish ID please

Caught this in 10m, and I got a figer spiked very lightly on its dorsal fin which hurts and swelled up the hand for a couple hours - why is that?

my 11 year old boy decided to
my 11 year old boy decided to kick one of these back into the water not so long ago. spine went straight under his big toe nail all the way to the end then snapped off. i still cringe just thinking about it. i have never seen him in so much pain. painful lesson to learn how to respect fish, no matter what the species.
