Another stolen Boat

So the low life Scum have been at it again...

Just found out my Bosses 7.5 to 8m razor line Aluminium Hard top was stolen from Hillaries Boat harbour sometime Sunday night.  It was in a pen near the ramp.

The boat is well know and normally launches at Ocean Reef. Called TOO EZE III

It has that very distinctive Chameleon / Harlequin Paint job and white top deck.

The PAINT CHANGES COLOUR FROM GREENS TO PURPLES..

It is unknown whether it was retrieved from the ramp or driven out on water...  Video cameras at the mariner show him mooring the boat at sunset but after that can't see anything till daybreak and the boat is gone..

The boat is powered by a 225 mercury optimax 2 stroke..

Anyone who has seen or sees the boat can call.  Any info on his pride and joy much appreciated...  Oh its also meant that our trip to gnarloo tomorrow has been put on hold.

Wed, 2012-03-28 20:16

Yeah they have but unfortunately the cameras are not night vision and you can't see anything once dark...  They show him moring the boat in the pen at sunset but then nothing till daybreak and the boat is gone.  Ropes still attached to jetty..

Apparently there are no cameras on the exit of the boat ramp are either...  They are waiting on one more private camera to check it tomorrow..

Absolute pricks. You have probably already checked, but do any of the other vessels have cameras on them? Hope it is found very quickly. They would have had to have had a decent trailer ready to go.

trackers

Wed, 2012-03-28 20:31

Just a thought, a boat like thats irreplacable, and has had a lotta money put in it.

These new tracking devises could be installed secretly away somewhere on the boat, coundnt they?

I thought I read you can track the transponder with a apps with your phone.

If I was lucky enough to have a 8metre plate boat , a tracker might be my first purchase ( after a xrap mulie pattern!)

any experts on these devises here?

Lets all hope this turns out like the bermuda , and best of lucky for its return .

And boats thiefs make great great cray bait, ive heard.

Wow not very expensive for the ability to know where your boat/car is.

This is something i think could be a good investment for your car too(the car version). Just have to jump on any 4x4 forum to hear how often a 4x4 is stolen. Alot more common than boats it seems!

Sux about the boat mate, hopefully it get recovered all good.

^^ quite compact, you could fit that in anywhere and hardwire it.

Yeah there is another one I found and put in Joe's stolen boat thread.

Pearl paint is what the paint job is called. It changes colour depending on where the sun hits the hull.

Wed, 2012-03-28 20:47

Sorry to hear I know how much it sux. You are going the right way by posting it on here. Put the pictures in gumtree get friends to post it on face book, notify water police as they will send pictures to every state and even give 6pr a call you will be surprised. The more the word gets out the harder it becomes to move the boat especially when it will stand out like dogs balls with that paint job.

You will also be surprised if you walk around the area how many cameras are around these days. DONT GIVE UP! The police are pretty good at knowing where to look

Im gonna keep an eye on this thread until it gets same outcome as mine goodluck and sorry bout the delay on the fishing trip

sorry to hear about your boat

Wed, 2012-03-28 21:08

thats a big distinctive boat it would take a big trailer and vehicle to move it. just a thought i'ld have a crawl through the closest industrial estate up that way and look fo a closed workshop of a decent size. a peek through a window may show up something, or heavy tire tracks at the gate of what looks like a place that has been closed for a while. Boat thieves make exellent cray bait

Devastating...

Wed, 2012-03-28 21:12

Just a thought and it may be a long shot (trying to think like a thief here- so not very good at that I'm afraid) If you wanted to take a boat like that - you'd do it at night (they've done that!) It was penned so if you planned to take the boat would it not be made easier to steal if you took it out to sea from the marina and then put it on a trailer at another boat ramp away from Ocean Reef - for example - drive it down to Hillaries, Freo or Woodmans, load it up and take it to whereever.... If that was the case if other Boat ramps have cctv it maybe worth checking that footage. The awesome paint job makes it easy to recognise so wouldn't you take it to a location where there is a population who don't know/recognise the boat & its owner? Condolences to the owner & big karma payout to the thief when they get busted.

Something suss with this one

Thu, 2012-03-29 06:40

NOT saying your boss was involved AT ALL in the theft. I think the cops would have to be thinking its got to be someone that knew what was happening. Its not like it is in that pen all the time. You would need to have the trailer already or they need to look for stolen trailers that day as well. The other thing is a flat tray truck reversed in deep enough or with a winch/hyab.You would need a key to the pens or swim in to the boat.If it was taken by sea then you would need to be able hotwire it and hope it had enough fuel in it to get you were you need to go.The other thing would be if you had another pen somewhere to put it in.If you cant hotwire it you would need to swim across with a rope hook it up then pull it across to the first finger jetty. You could do it on your own but not easy.Agian like Joe's boat its not a cartopper or a regular boat its a one off so you cant just use it or move it on quickly.IMO your boss could get his tub back just need to hope its in good nick.I just think that with such a short window of time to get sorted they would have had to have been ready to do it very quickly, like see it Sunday then have the trailer/truck at home ready to go then get back Sunday night/Early Monday morning to take it while having a fair idea that the cameras wouldnt work at night. They either knew what they were after or have balls the size of coconuts.

Agree also allrounder

Thu, 2012-03-29 12:21

after I read that the boat isn't usually penned, that was the first thing I thought of, somebody either knew or was watching.

Good luck on finding your bosses boat, dirt bags should be hung by their short and curlies, then thrown on a ant hill covered in honey, hopefully a fire ant hill, scum of the earth.  We have everything marked with and registered with our HIN number.

agree with allrounder.

Thu, 2012-03-29 07:48

Someone scoped this out, watched it getting penned etc and moved quickly.

raced home , told a dickhead mate, just seen a wicked boat, worth flogging etc.

A mate once had his house completly stripped, and I mean stripped, just carpets etc left

on a weekend he went to lano.

normally had 2 rotties in backyard, but took them both on trip.

It sounded like a inside job , and turns out a scum mate of his cousin, who heard about the trip secound hand

turned the place over.

Really hope this turns out well, as many boat owners around Perth must be getting worried, the amount you see

left in driveways, street verges etc, and the average boat is worth so much more than when we first started boatn

1980, think swiftcraft seagulls , derbans, bellboys etc , no electronics, god im showing my age!

Have they tried going down at night and canvasing fishos

Fri, 2012-03-30 06:44

If it went out the heads maybe a fisho will remember it.At least that would eliminate the boat ramp at Hillarys.Did they leave it with the keys in ect or would they have had to turn batterys on and hotwire it?Are ther cameras at ocean reef cause that place is lit up like a xmas tree most of the time.I would guess they would have gone out at Hillarys,Ocean Reef or Mindarie. Two Rocks and Freo are a longer run and they would need to know there was enough fuel onboard.Last thing you want is to run out of fuel at night in a boat you had just stolen.Have they tryed the servos on the main drags out of the marinas. They may have footage of the main roads for fuel drive offs as well.

We have exhausted nearly all

Fri, 2012-03-30 18:32

We have exhausted nearly all cameras.  but the majority of cameras do not have night capabilities so once dark you can't see shit.

The fisheries cameras were our best shot for ramp but they turned them off on the 1st march.  Apparently they only use them when they are doing surveys to see numbers on boats.

still getting it out there and thanks to everyone for keeping an eye open.  The owner won't let this one rest...
