ive not used that exact model but the ozflex rods are great ... they where the standard rod for use on balloning with deep spool alveys and shore based heavy tackle fisherman for many years .... Ive still got a heavy wrap rod in the shed with a alvey 651c clamped to it - but i havent used it in years ... if i get the need to catch something big off the stones now i take a stella 20k and a popper rod :P

A bloke fishing near us this morning had an Ozflex and he landed a nice mulloway and a cracking 60 cm tailor with no problems at all in pretty bad conditions.
They are strong rods, cast well and great value for money.

I own 3 Ozflex rods

I own 3 Ozflex rods, SU7177 low-mount Alvey rod, SU4.5 graphite high-mount spinning rod, I just shortened the butt a little as I found it a bit uncomfortable to use and a 9ft 6kg spin stick, great for throwing metal slices and poppers for salmon and tailor. Never had any dramas with them and I like fishing with them, good value for money IMO.

another bonus

another great thing about these rods is that they are made in WA. Great to keep the money in OZ instead of sending to some sweatshop overseas.
