When im targeting mulloway

Mon, 2010-03-01 15:47

When im targeting mulloway my rod is usually in a rod holder with just enough drag to keep my line tight. then your rod just loads up and your on. Even when im holding a rod you just load up and your on. Mulloway tend to fight by running parrallel to the beach so you might end up 500m from where you started, headshakes can be small or large surges. Thats just in my experience. Others might have different ideas.

I've found they tend to hit

I've found they tend to hit pretty hard and run with the bait for a few seconds...have a chew and then decide whether or not to take it. In my case, usually they spit it out!

I agree with Cudbfishn, when fishing the surf i leave my rod in rod holder with the drag backed off slightly and if your hooks are sharp and well exposed the fish will usually hook them selves... on the other hand when im fishing calmer water like cockburn sound i fish with my reels in freespool and allow the fish to ''run'' with the bait before setting the hooks... just what has worked for me.. cheers.

Motorised pushies

Mon, 2010-03-01 22:04

Word is that the motorised pushies are classed as a vehicle, if you get pulled over riding one on the road without a licence your in deep poo.

The bike would also be eligible to be impounded for 28 days under the suspended MDL laws Surprised

A 50cc pushie may or may not

Tue, 2010-03-02 16:04

A 50cc pushie may or may not be legal to use on the road - but more than likely not.

The ADRs actually state that anything over 200W for a motor-assisted cycle needs to be licenced as a road vehicle....

You would need to probably measure the motor in horsepower and find out what the rating is in watts. At 50CC it probably closer to 2000W than 200W - especially if it's worked.

This has been a grey area for years...and the 50cc thing is left over regs from a bygone era I'm afraid. You can talk to the Tech Section, Dept of Transport for more info.

So yeah wopjrb - you're probably taking a pretty big risk mate and if you get caught you could be in the shit big time. Might want to check it out.
