There's Lamprey eels in the Margaret River, whether they'd be any good is anyone's guess.

Freshwater eels in WA

Sat, 2017-01-07 19:19

I cannot recall every reading that freshwater eels exist in rivers in WA.  Yes there are moray eels and conger eels in the sea but these do not inhabit rivers / streams or lakes.  Short finned and long finned eels which spend much of their time in freshwater rivers in some eastern states and other countries do not naturally frequent our WA freshwater systems as I understand it.

Lamprey eels

Are in WA streams. EG   Helena river and the cascades on lefroy brook.  I think because of the endangered species they may be protected??.    Ocean eels are a common catch and a pain in the bum to release.  Never tried them as bait or to eat.    Never seen anything like what you get in tassie or uk though.
