Anyone owned/spent time on a Southwind 640SF?

Gday gents,

anyone own one of these hulls? Or spent time on one? Any comments regarding ride quality, pros/cons would be greatly appreciated. They seem to be pretty rare.. found one review that looked the goods.

Thanks in advance

But certainly look like a nice bit of boat and David Granvilles review was pretty comprehensive on a quick search.

Old man had one while I was growing up. Had a yami 200 and was an absolute weapon of a boat. He loved it so much when he bought his next boat leeder 710 supersport he couldn't part with the south wind and had both for a year.

They will go through the odd wave in a heavy following sea but that was really heavy seas. Overall excellent boat.

I had a Southwind a few years back, was a SF17 I think, with a 140 Yamaha salt water series, was a beautiful riding boat. only sold it to go bigger. would recommend the Southwinds for quality to anyone

It's all original 2003 with a 200hp yam 4 stroke with 311 hours. Needs a bit of work on the trailer and a tiny bit of glass work around the bung.. but overall pretty solid. Will have to customise it to suit my fishing aswell
