Let's see...

...Oregon to Idaho, then took three days to get to Kentucky, stuck in Kentucky for three days, another two days in Indy, and then, magically, only eight hours to reach Alaska! I hope it's not a body part for an organ transplant or something!

Yeah I've had stuff go like this, diabolical sometimes, although one thing I purchased in the U.S a couple of weeks ago got here in 8 days, no special postage, just an amazing time to arrive. Anchorage is the last stop in the U.S., generally goes to Singapore or Hong Kong from there. In Singapore it can get stuck if their customs get hold of it. Go to Australia post tracking web site and put your tracking number in there, sometimes it will be in the country and your none the wiser. If it is, it will show up on there.

Freight

Sat, 2015-08-01 16:10

i purchased a hydraulic steering kit off eBay from the states last year and it went on a similar journey to this, from memory it ended up taking about 2 1/2 weeks to arrive to my doorstep and it only cost about $45 in freight. Wish I could travel that far that cheaply haha.

what do you think that might weigh taffy, helm pump, ram hoses fluid. Look on eBay under hydraulic steering and when you see that I'm right your apology might be forthcoming.

eBay item

Sun, 2015-08-02 19:40

cant put the exact item up caus as stated it was last year it was purchased but as an example check out eBay item number 171842974315.

There are lots of other steering kits on there too quoting about $60 shipping and considering that when I purchased last year the dollar was sitting at about 90 cents that would equate to approx $45 shipping and yes they did ship oil caus it did not come by air.

Get your facts straight before you call someone a liar taffy.

Item numbers

Sun, 2015-08-02 20:14

item numbers are not available in feedback for items purchased more than 90 days ago!

and if you read my first post properly it says from memory approx 2 1/2 weeks.

The con note I received from either dhl or fed ex ( can't remember who) quoted 20kgs.

Whats your problem taffy.

I have found both Ebay and

Sun, 2015-08-02 20:31

I have found both Ebay and Boats.net freight to be similarly roundabout but still very quick and reasonably priced.
The fact that the tracking actually shows where it is, is a great thing.
Buy anything here with Auspost tracking and it has 3 stages "received by Auspost" "in transit" and "delivered"

Is it "so bad" Taffy?
Why get so upset over nothing?

Ebay and shipping

Sat, 2015-08-01 19:50

Touch wood to date I have not had any problems with purchases of items on Ebay and having them delivered from USA usually taking about 5 - 9 days. But I have noticed that the cost of postage has jumped up a bit.

I had an item coming from the U.S. that was sent on the 11th August, landed in Perth on the 17th, has been quiet for over a couple of weeks now, but turned up on the tracking again this morning back in New York. Go figure
