Saw one of those at tims

Tue, 2012-03-20 19:51

Saw one of those at tims thickett the other week... slowly digging himsself down to the axles... he asked for help, he gave a believeable ignorant reply about the 40 psi in his tyres(his reading must be blurred coz he missed the sign b4 hand)

Being a nice bloke I still dragged him out with the cruiser,  and MY snatch strap(cause he didnt have one)... he was happy to let me take the piss outta him after he said thanks at the top of the off ramp...

Totally agree with ya Jimmy P

jmo, these people just like the new ones to fishing,or just like the ones you see at the boat ramp who cant reverse or undo the shackles before the waters edge, may need some guidance as well, not everyone are up to speed with the do's and dont's, of the outdoor world, but hey you sit there and watch and laugh and do sweet fa to help guide these people in the right direction

Advice

Tue, 2012-03-20 21:28

I'm always keen to pass on what knowledge I have and point people in the right direction. Easier to do that then send time pulling them out. There are some öperators" who think they know best or can't be bothered. Spent two hours digging a friends F250 out of Cable beach one year cause he didn't engage 4WD  The beers tasted so good on his tab back at the pub.

That's right, and do you know

Tue, 2012-03-20 21:35

That's right, and do you know why we laugh at them? Because it's f*$ing funny. They go out buy the biggest, most expensive toy they can find then dont learn how to use it. Some of them are just too PIG HEADED to admit they dont know it all.

Agree with you smiley

We all had to start somewhere, no one is an instant superstar when they start out eh! Sometimes all it takes is a few helpful words and they will get the point than carrying on like a 2 bob watch! As opposed to bagging out someone, give them a helping hand. Too many armchair critics.

Ningaloo

Tue, 2012-03-20 22:56

Was camped up at Jane bay on Ningaloo station a while back and we got v8 inches of rain over 3 days. This prick in his big F250 4x4 got bogged when no one else would even dare drive around. His reckoning was---go as far as you can with hard tyres, get nearly bogged, put it in 4x4 then go as far as you can THEN let your tyres down.

We all left him there for another 4 days before towing him out, still didn't change his way of thinking.

put simply, if you engage in an activity, particuarily when its costing a bucketload, you should do a little research, ask a few questions, do a little learning.

You blokes are shockin, it's alot easier to help someone out than sittting at your computer bitching about what someone may or may not have done.

I bet if you were to get bogged or stuck in a tight spot, you might be needing the help of that bloke in the F250. Quit your bloody boring whinging

we did help him mate. if we hadnt have been there he would have continued trying to dig for china! and no he would not be able to help anyone, he didnt even have a shovel.we were nice and polite to him, had a chat, helped him let his tyres down and check the pressure. so dont go shooting off like an ass.

What is it with some of you

Thu, 2012-03-22 15:15

What is it with some of you smokers who always assume that miners and their money are always idiots? It it that you are just jealous of the fact we get paid loads and get heaps of time off, or are you just narrow minded? There's as many f#%*wits in town as what there is up here..

Agree some of these city

Thu, 2012-03-22 15:21

Agree some of these city slickers are the worst. Most mining companies make you attend a driving course before operating a vehicle on site. Even the basic do's and don'ts are covered

a lot of the off roading

Thu, 2012-03-22 15:17

a lot of the off roading comes down to common sence. some have more cents than sence, hence they come unstuck. its always a laugh to see someone stuff up like that and even have a good laugh when you youself stuff up. it happens but when your not prepered for such adventures like beach driving your asking for trouble.

Too many of what i call COWBOYS out there and they are the ones that ruin it for the ones that do the right thing and know their stuff

Thu, 2012-03-22 20:52

I will always help someone out if i can but some people just think they know better I was up at Steep the othe week and its a 4x4 track in and out ant their are signs that say let your tyres down to 20psi or less and we had 3 cars full of lads going into steep with hard tires ( you can see they were not 20 or less ) digging up the track and struggling we did offer help and ask about their tyres only to be told they knew what they were doing and these boys didn't work up north some people are ignorant But i will always help if i can some just cant be helped
