the barges/samson fish

hey guys thinking of heading out to the barges 2moro to try and catch some sambos, never been out there before.

does anyone know the coordinates? i realise asking for coordinates is frowned upon but this is strictly catch and release obviously and i dont think this location is a real secret.

if any1 can help us out that wld be great.

cheers

collie.

they are about 10 - 15nm south west of Rotto.

I know thats not a coordinate, but should give you an idea and get you in the area at least. And I would say its probably a bit early in the season - the summer months tend to be more productive.

...usually means big skippy, pinkies, and possibly the odd mulloway. I did have the co-ordinates at one stage but have since decided that fishing in 100 metres is not for me!

Jig up some nice amberjack on some light gear (and light jigs) and you might change your opinion there John Laughing

Huggy, I think you're thinking of the derwent. A good sambo jigging spot (but 200m deep :S).

Hlokk, the Derwent is WEST of Rotto (approx 8nm)

Barges are west/ sou-west of Rotto about 4-6 nm.

10 to 15 nm sou-west of Rotto is the sou-west bank ???

JMHO.
