Baron Sportsman restoration and mod, while the wind has been blowing....
Submitted by wangler on Sat, 2014-02-08 20:46
Been working on my Baron Sports since Oct 15 2013. Had to strip it, prep, sand, spray gel coat, sand some more, polish and refit. I finished about a month ago and still the wind hasn't stopped! Bottom pic is when I bought it 6 years ago

great work mate, just
great work mate, just wondering, have you done any glassing work before or was this your first go ? I love the concept myself, just not sure I have the ability to complete the job. You see many unfinished boats on gumtree

Thanks,
not the 1st time I've done glassing, but learning to spray out of the new gel coat gun was a challenge, worked it out in 20 mins tho, not like using a HVLP gun. Spraying is the easy part, sanding is what takes the time.
Yes I see plenty of projects(crap)on Gumtree, but by the time you put your time into them it's not worth it. When I see something worth doing I'll grab it hopefully

Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Motor is a Johnson 140hp
4 stroke and prop is 19 and bottom cav plate pretty much inline with bottom of hull. I get WOT 5800, 65kmh/ 35knots with full boat ( 3 ppl, their fishing gear and about 100kg of fish, ;) )
