Here is a link to the proposed Perth Canyon zone which is pencilled in to become a Multiple use zone, which will exclude things like Scallop Trawling and Demersal Gill Netting etc, and allow Rec's to fish as per usual. If this goes ahead it will be great. But be prepared as I can see the Greens fighting pretty damn hard for this area, which, as you can see spans an area very popular with Northern Suberbs fishos.
All i'm saying is don't be content with the map that you've seen and sit on you're hands, be pro-active and make a submission.

Are you saying it should be
Are you saying it should be reduced or expanded then? I doubt many people will mind having no commercials in the metro area (but they cant already can they?). Pretty hard to say just how slippery the slope will be.

No, i'm very happy with the proposed area being a Multiple Use Zone. I'm just warning people that the Greens are not happy with it, and to expect them to rally pretty hard to change the propozed zone to a zone with a lot more restrictions.

Bottom line is we may be locked out of the greatest pellagic area we have in future ( going by this last seasons billies and mackies, that would be ashame!!!)

How is it that anyone
How is it that anyone actually listens to the greenies? They are hard to take seriously.
Funniest one recently was the greenie who suggested Japan should forget about its reactors and use wind turbines. 50million people sitting there in the dark!
When labour get destroyed at the next election will the greens lose some of the seats and some of the sway that they hold now? Politics do my head in.
