just wondering if anyone had been out fishing the beaches down the warnbro way or even secret harbour way. anyone ahd any luck and where you been heading
was down there over the new year and caught heaps of nice fat yf whiting and a soapy mulloway (450mm long) on my lil gear...
i was talking to a local and he reckons in the gutters late arvo there are solid tailor and mulloway pushing the 6-7kg range
I've caught a few different types of fish down this way, allso fished Secret Harbour, watch out for young fella's fishing on top of you if you find the gutter, "hint" find the lookout near the end carpark for a nice size gutter in Secret Harbour, I haven't caught my mulla yet but that where I would start.lots of Herring, whitting, tarwhine and taylor to be caught, caught these PJ's at Port Kenndey about four weeks ago now.
See lots of other's down there as well

Well the fish in my avatar came from Golden bay a couple of years back. Down to the carpark at the end of Chrystaluna, once you hit the beach the area between Singleton and Golden bay is where I used to fish regularly producing a few good croakers and plenty of soapies.
However check for gutters as it has been some time since I fished down there. I did see back some years ago in the Western Angler mag a fella caught a 2mtr bronzie along the same sort of stretch.
We have a place down there in Boolardy St. Haven't been down for a while so can't comment on the gutters at the mo, but it has always produced great YF Whiting in the shore break and some decent tailor runs for me. Only ever pulled a couple of croakers from there in the 15 or so years we have been going down there. Never really had the patience to camp out.
We fish about 400m North of the main beach at the end of the street that the little shopping centre is on. There is usually a couple of good gutters there with water flowing in and out to sea. There is a good lookout platform that you can view the water from at the carpark and this will help you find the gutters a little better.
i was really after some big tailor than the mulla but cool at least i know they are there because the warnbro beaches havent produced alot for me in the evenings and there isnt many people joining me thre either.
hey does anyone know how the cars are getting on the beach down at long point. seen a few down there last night but when i tried got sprung by the security and turned around. is there a back track.
Mike79, at the south western end of the car park theres a track which leads down the side of the fence and takes you down to the beach.not supposed to go down there but ive been going there since i was 6 and im not gunna stop now. drop tyre pressure down as the ramp back up is deep/dry sand.
the track you are telling me about has a security guard on it all arvo. no entry but i found just back down the main road there is a track off it that takes you around the wanna be cop and takes you all the way out there. as for fish i got the awsome tasting weed fish today and heaps of it and trumpeters. what an arvo
