Best Setup for Trolling Lures for Macks and other Species
Submitted by Mossie on Mon, 2009-02-02 15:56
Hey Guys ,
I got a few questions in regards to what the perferred option is for leaders when trolling and the best way to terminate them eg crimp ect ? I have heard single strand wire is great for trolling when targeting macks ect as you dont loose the action of the lure with single strand. When we head up to exmouth though we will be watnting to troll some deep divers and x-rap's for some other species as well .. is it best to run heavy pen 10x or Jinkai with these other lures ? What is the best way to tie these off ? I have been using my own method which works but I wanted to see what everyone else's opinion is ....

Info!
Superflex 88lb single strand S/S wire with a length of 800mm - 1000mm. I use the haywire twist and have a quality crosslock at the lure end to change lures and a descent ballbeaqring swivel at the other end. This wire is stealthy and it allows your lure to move freely.
I use this with all minnow/diving lurers etc and only use heavy mono on skirted lures. I use a Richter wind-on (mono) between my my main line and wire trace that i have mentioned!
