Hi guys,
Looking at getting a sounder/gps combo once i buy my boat 5-6m ali.
Looked at the Garmin and the Lowrance but open to suggestions. Used mainly for fishing and want to be able to go to 200m +. Budget in the $1500 range.
Whats good out there and where is the best place to buy and get GOOD advice?

Garmin has its benefits
With the use of an sd card, you get 3D vision for fishing and maps. Auto guidance and pois around Perth.
Lowrance on the other hand, has probably the clearest and brightest screen and a very powerful transducer. If I had the decision again this time, I would have bought another Garmin.
Wherever you go, there you are

Reason
Any reason why you want a combo unit? If your going with a good size rig and heading deep like it sounds you are, save a bit extra and go with a Furuno sounder and a separate gps unit. Understand if you want if you are set on te combo but have a search around and check out other peoples set ups. Oceanside and All boats depending on North or South would be good places to start looking. Both places have great advice on sounders and plotters. Always good to be setting up your rig. Have fun!

agree with the lowrance
but as for paying the extra for the 3d mapping its a waste of money! the lines for the 3d dont mean anything! its just a line from where on high point meets a low point! and that is what i was told from a navico rep!

GPS/Sounder
As Tigh said, seperate units are ideal BUT if space is an issue OR your looking at a budget then a Lowrance combo is a great option.
With all our customers we go through the unit in detail and setup their unit also so its ready to install & use.
We have just receieved another Lowrance delivery with combo units also.
Feel free to PM us for a price, happy to help.
