For those with an interest in aluminium boats, here is a selection of pics of a boat being built by a mate in Geraldton presently, 70 foot.

That's pretty impressive. How long would something like that take you reckon from go to whoa?

Good question

Good question, this, like many of the recently built ones will have a fibreglass wheelhouse built in Dongara.
I'll hazard a guess at about 4-5 months for the hull and deck.

There is a lot of hours put in to get it to this stage I would guess.

Amazing how flat sheets end up forming a curved hull like that .

Shows what you can do with shaping aluminium if you have a large enough working area--unfortunately, this is where smaller plateys fall down, you can't can't get any subtleties of shape into them over the smaller areas involved.

Nice bits of kit, Ian Ralph from Kalbarri put one in the water a  couple of years ago.

Lord I’ll forever ge a good boy if you could just see your way to give me tonight’s lotto numbers.

What a great looking boat that’s the thing that would be first on the shopping list if I won lotto, walk down to the jetty jump ( ok maybe not jump) on board turn the key and away you go.

Thanks for posting the pic of a fantastic looking fishing boat not a floating gin palace
