So today I got some compression tests done in a 2004 df 140 got 120 , 160 , 160 ,160 psi cylinder 1 failed a leak down test.chucked a scope down the bore to inspect and seems like there is a little damage to piston ......
can an any one chuck a rough estimate at wat it would cost to fix it

The hours have just flown bye!
how many hrs if you dont mind us asking , as there is plenty out there saying 1000hrs on a 4 stroke is nothing , they go for 1000,s etc etc
Its just good to hear the true about usage , service history , hrs done verses damage or failure and cost.
Cheers , hope its not one of these , its cheaper to buy new in the long run deals for you,

1000’s
Quaddie I have a 2005 df90 it is now just about to tick over 1000 hours (it’s done 550 since 2013)
it has a bit of corrosion on the leg but runs like a dream and if you take the cowling off it still looks like it’s brand new.
Touch wood 2000 hours won’t be a problem, but if it was retired at 20 years old for example in 2025 I don’t think I could complain

Wow that’s not a lot really
My yammy 2012 model. 2.700 hrs compression all perfect. It’s not the ring clogged, sometimes cleaner fixes carbon build up on rings. I don’t know what it’s called

Check exhaust
Apparently certain models of suzuki do this whn the exhaust has corroded through the block, usually happens about 600 -800 hour mark.

Pull the head off and
Pull the head off and inspect for water gallery corrosion.
It will have to come off anyway to replace the piston.
Rebuilding a 70hp at the moment.
