Biggest Mulloway

Hi guys,

Just wondering whats the biggest mulloway caught in WA ? i think Australia wide its 42.5kg i read in an article a while ago. just interested to see WA's record. i also read that back several decades ago a man caught one on his left over lamb chops after running out of bait and apparently the fish was around 40 kg plus lol..

 Does 17kg count? I thought that was pretty decent but 42kg must have been a monster!!!

caught around WA over 30kg. I've seen a few pics from a gun Angler in Augusta which would've gone close to 40kg, he called them around 80lb.

The big ones now days seem to come from the South Coast, especialy in SA around Yalata.

Seen a pic of one from wagoe that was meant to be 40-45kg! Looked like a barrel!

 Biggest I've caught last november was 38KG on scales after GUTT, Gilled N Bled !!! Perth Metro. before that was 35KG 1 year earlier :)

yup yalata is definately on the to do list one day maybe..

KB 38kg from metro waters is gotta be up there, how long was the fish? initial run woulda been crazy.. what were you using as bait?

Theres probably heaps of big mulloways around even in metro waters of WA, hoping i can catch one before next year..

I remember reading a hard-cover West Aussie fishing book, that showed a mulloway of 55kg from the Greenough river.

But it could also have been 55lbs. So not certain. But someone may have a copy of that book to refer to.
I think it was published in the 1970's.

P.s the picture may only be of the river mouth, not the fish. Also the blurb under the picture states the weight and location.
