Blooded the new boat! Not how I intended though

Been working on boats about 30 yrs and did this.
Slipped into open hatch, seen this horror a few times over the yrs and did it myself last night.
28 stitches, in and out of ED in 90 minutes and about 15 people filed thru saying "ooooh that's a nice one..."

Know the feeling, stepped into an open hatch while carrying both arms full of rope coils, lost a heap of bark all the way down and broke a couple of ribs
That one on the shin is a good one and going to take a while before it heals even with all the stiches. As you said, not the type of blood you wanted first off

I'll get stitches out Sunday and fly to NZ monday then work 5 days later.
Not much pain but today I did full front end brake replacement on Landcruiser and needing some stiff drinks now

I cringed in faux pain looking at that pic. That's a good effort.

Honestly mate, I'm laying here and in the same room is two old boys, one almost blind with no family and the nurse has not stopped since she started at 7, not sure how many other rooms she has.
Chirpy as a chook, hand feeding him, cleaning, making beds, taking swabs, helping them shower, wheeling one down 3 levels so he can have a gasper etc
One of my daughters is a nurse and I lived with one for 5 yrs in my younger days.
They're not all angels but there certainly is an exponentially larger proportion than the general population

Yep there certainly are a lot of angels in that job. Deserve so much more credit than they get. When you have a loved one in hospital it shows how much compassion most of them have.
On another note, that's a nasty one Rob! Hope it's on the improve and you're back on deck soon.

Got one similar on the side of calf muscle
Foot slipped of dirt bike foot peg and tore leg open. Not painful and suprising not much blood. Mashing the shin bone and getting bone bruising is not fun though. Hope the next bleed is something more pleasant.
