Allan Bevan has a few of these lying around.... veeery nice to fish with. Even more fun to jig with! So pretty you'd want to keep it in a glass cabinet, but yet, able to bring in massive fish.

Only had limited experience with it, but it is sweet indeed.

Yes.....they are top quality

Yes.....they are top quality reel....not to mention very nice looking as well. They are great reels to fish with but for the guys that want super whopper stopper, its limited. It uses teflon/graphite fibres for drag. Yes its smooth but if you want more than 10kg it becomes quite notchy and a potential to seize....but other than it is a well constructed reel with good looks.

All of the above is JMO and feedback from other ppl's experience. I have it used it once.....didnt hook anything but first impression is smooth and torquey.....

Warranty

Wed, 2006-10-11 23:48

Anybody know what type of warranty comes with these reels? Campbells is obviously stocking them, but do they carry out the warranty work or will it need to be sent overseas if any work is required.

Having used a Torsa 20 on Shikari last season, I'd find it hard to go past the shimano with its 10 year warranty if I was in the market for an overhead jigging reel (80lb).

With imported Japanese reels

Thu, 2006-10-12 08:11

With imported Japanese reels like this, it usually no more than 1yr becoz most reels dont come with warranty in Japan in the first place. If you want a seriously powerful and smooth overhead reel I go the Torsa and any problems can be rectified easily and locally.

honsu they do more than the 10 or 13kg they say stock out of the box anyway, and as most of you are aware is possible to upgrade to 30kg of drag by ordering a few new washers. Not to say torsas arent nice but they do have a tendancy to lose there smoothness after a while from what i have heard.

Hi guys got one myself and have not looked back at all. A little expensive but worth every penny spent. Great reels.
