Boat and Trailer Service

Hello,

I was hoping that somone could point me in the right direction, I am looking for a good place to get my trailer and motor serviced, as well as getting a price on installing a sounder.

I have a 3.7m tinny with a 15hp merc and am looking for somone to do general service on the motor and service/repack/replace the wheel bearings if required. Can anyone recommend anyone?

Cheers

 Fremantle trailers quoted me

Wed, 2016-01-13 13:33

Fremantle trailers quoted me $250 to do the bearings on the trailer (same size as yours), ended up being about $210 because they reused the original beatings as they were in good condition.

Dont know about a motor service sorry!

 Whaaaaat? $210 for labour

Whaaaaat? $210 for labour and a bit of grease!! That is a licence to print money!

Costs me $36 to replace my bearings and I don't get stuck at the Forrest Hwy service with a red hot hub like the poor bugger I who asked me to check it out 2 weeks ago who'd got them done by a well known boat yard 2 days earlier. He'd only come from South St!

Not many mechanics doing trailer bearings either. Usually the apprentice or the work experience kids hence my story above about poor old mate paying to get his bearings done badly and ruining his holiday

Freo Trailers

* I just got my 6.7m dual axle trailer serviced, lighting rewired and over the pits. Overall good service and high quality work by them - wiring connections were all heat sealed and new plugs replaced where need - they picked boat up from storage place, repaired it, took it over pits and then dropped it back off again. Think they billed $110/hr which is standard rates for mechanics, etc.

Dan - Skipper Marine

Not sure about trailers but I reckon it wouldn't be a problem.

Dan is a mobile mechanic, has done the last two services on my Merc and also a couple of electircal installations, does great work at a reasonable price.

Highly recomend him.

 Thanks for all the help,

I ended up using Mick @ Marine Masters. He was a nice bloke, pleasant to deal with and I was happy with the quality of his service.
