Boat flooring - timber look
Submitted by bradz on Fri, 2013-06-28 09:43
Hi guys
Apart from teak, which is too heavy and expensive, can you suggest a flooring for a 6.5m trailer boat that gives a similar timber look?
There are some cork based products that seem OK but are also pretty expensive.
Cheers

You can get synthetic wood
You can get synthetic wood (e.g. www.nuteak.com as an example). Not sure what the costs are though. Being aimed for luxury yachts I imagine gold leaf guilding would be cheaper. Haven't seen it myself though. New boat or the same one?

Hi Matt
The old boat is sold. Now looking for something with more deck space for the kids as they are getting bigger and actually like coming out on the boat. Probably around the 6.3m mark. If nothing good turns up I may resort to a 5.5m older boat to tide me over. Having withdrawals already.
I have found a product called Dek-king in the UK. They did have a distributor in QLD but they arent answering their phone. May have shut down.
I reckon the teak look just adds that extra something.
I'll invite you for a fish once the new tub is found.
Cheers
