Off the top of my head
Meguiars, Mothers and 3M do "marine spceific" polishes, cutting compounds, waxes etc. But really, any cut and polish will do the trick - gelcoats and paint/clearcoat are not too dissimilar.
I'd follow up with a wax to protect all your hard work.

Streaker id recomend
Begin with a liqht acid wash to remove stains (peter G's Clean a hull) works well
Then follow up with a wax restorer like (malco rejuvenator) Much cheaper than 3m finnese-it products and works as well.
Use a lambs wool buff and some technique
If this doesnt bring it up then you may have to apply heavier compound polish.
let us know how you go.

polish
After I did the cut and polish to get rid of all the old rubbish, I used Maguires and it worked a treat.
That's my choice.

Any further reccommendations on a boat polish. I wanna get the missus to polish my vessel
Are these products one application, or are there 2-3 steps?

I'd suggest copious amount of alcohol if you want to lure the missus into polishing your vessel.

polishing
Depending on the condition of gel / paint and how fussy you are you might consider wet n dry from 800g to 1500 then cut then polish the key is to wax though this is the sealer. Most peopole finish on a polish and say job done not so wax will gloss it more and help to bead water for a longer duration. This process of waxing must be applied every 3 months to protect the exterior all the polishes mentioned above will work and the tip on peter g hull wash is gold wear gloves!!.Never wash yo r boat in cheap detergent as it will strip the wax and polish straight away a lot of hard work for nothing the exterior finish is just as important as that on a car and for resale it is wise to keep it maintained good luck.
