If it already has a hin just go the dept of transport office in Hillarys and fill in the form. If it doesn't then you'll have to get one put on beforehand. I imagine it would be the same as registering an interstate boat which I went thru earlier in the year. There was also a stat dec I had to complete but I can't recall what that was for. If you go on the dept of transport website I'm sure all the info is there. It wasn't a difficult process. Boats don't require inspections or anything like that, just paperwork.

Scano the Hin number on a Quintrex will actually be on a sticker inside the boat. The second hidden number will be stamped under the gunnel on the rear starbord side. If you bend over and look up you'll see it there.

RobertMc if you have any other questions re hin's just shout. But Bluedog had it spot on..

Call them

Call the marine authorities. They seem pretty helpful and will even email you the required forms. I'm about to bring a boat to WA from the east so I contacted them regarding what I need to do. You may need to get your HIN inspected by an approved person in fact I'm pretty sure that you will need to. They will also send you a list of approved inspectors who come around to your house to provide you with a HIN inspection certficate which apparantly costs around $150. I hope this helps.
