The Bowes River is normally closed over at the rivermouth so I'm doubtful that there would be any crabs in the river. There are good bream in the river though. When I have been there it has always been a side trip from Horrocks or Port Gregory and I have fished the beach for tailer and mulloway. Like any beaches look for gutters and cast anormal beach rig into them (ie 3 way swivel with a star sink and a set of gang hooks). If you are 4x4ing onto the beach itself make sure to let your tyres down as it can get very boggy in sections but its not too bad higher up away from the ocean edge. Grab your bait from Geraldton if you are heading through that way, cheaper and better selection.
