Braid choices

need to spool up a few reels for a shark bay trip at end of month, dont really want to spend a fortune on braid, jbraid, sunline siglon, dogtooth, any others that i should be looking at? Have 1 overhead for trolling and a couple of spin reels in the 5000 range which will get 30lb, some feed back would be great on performance

Isnt that expensive but is a very high quality braid you can get it from busted fishing if not oceanside normally have berkley whiplash in stock and they rate that quite high  and if trolling only just chuck mono on it cheaper and will still do the job.

J-Braid 8

I rate the Dawia J-Braid 8 in multi colour as a good allrounder - 1500m spools for around $199 is good value in my books if you shop around- thats if a few of your reels take the same size (its 40lb common size for me).

Cheers,

Disco.

We stock bulk spools of J Braid as well as the popular Grinder braid by assassin thats really well priced in 300meter and 600meter . feel free to come in store and have a chat to your team members and feel free to ask them any questions you need answers to.  I would stay away from

I would stay away from J-Braid 8 if using it for casting lures.

It casts well to start with then seems to absorb the moisture and swell up which results in short casts and lots of wind knots. Last trip north we took 3 spools with 30lb on it, came home with the line from all 3 spools in a box to be used another day on other reels for boat fishing where casting is not a problem.

It seemed good value at the time, but now regret buying it for our casting reels.
