Braid for ultralight setup/bream
Submitted by HYPWR on Mon, 2016-04-18 21:32
Hi all, new to the forum but wondering what braid you'd recommend for a stradic ci4 1000 on a dropshot 1-3kg setup for throwing soft plastics?? Also would anyone know roughly how much line I can fit on the 1000?
cheers!

Braid
Sunline Super Braid 0.6 150m is very thin and strong, will fill the spool.

I wouldnt recommend sunline
I wouldnt recommend sunline in anything less than 8lb i had too many dramas with their 4lb and 6lb, one spool of 6lb breaking way below 6lb and the 4lb would just wind knot like crazy. Ive filled my 1000 size reel up with berkley nanofil 6lb and its brilliant! My other reel is filled with some expensive 4lb daiwa line that is just too thin and loops over the guides when you cast. I never really had any dramas with fireline crystal and i used that stuff for years and most of that was comp fishing. I say with a rod like a drop shot you probs wouldn't want to go crazy thin line so dont get caught up in size super thin stuff will just wind knot on a flexible rod. Finns 5lb is good stuff too.

Thanks for the input! Keen
Thanks for the input! Keen to get out with the new setup asap! I'll look into the Berkley nanofil.
Any chance youve used spiderwire stealth? The product reads well but not sure how well it functions..
