Braided lines

I don't like how mono lines degrade, and i'm switching to braid (15lb) on a 4000 size reel. I want 300m for about $50 (i know it's pretty tight) and i would like any advice on brands ect.

Mate you won't get many braids for that price. Maybe some Mojiko tournament braid from annaconda, that's about it. Even fireline is about $70 for 300yds.

Hercules Braid on the other hand is more of a dyneema braid. and is WAYY! better than Fireline.

I'd rather pluck every single hair on my body and weave them together myself that use hercules. Hurcules is about as good as dental floss, without the mint flavour

Got Ya Tackle

Sat, 2010-06-12 18:28

Mate , try Got Ya Tackle on Erindale Road, Balcatta.

They've got most of their stuff on sale at the moment as their closing down in the near future, PLENTY of bargains to be had in that store at the moment.

Other than that i'd check motackle.com, always a good place to start as their prices are generally pretty sharp and if you don't order from them, at least they give you a good indication of what you should expect to pay around town.

Sat, 2010-06-12 18:57

You can get 300 yards of power pro online ,delivered for under 50$
You can get platil braid from bcf.
But you cant beat spending that extra 20 bucks and getting sunline super pe from your local. Will be the best 20 dollars you ever spent.
A 300 spool will cost around 80$ , Take advantage of your fishwrecked discount and get it closer to 70$.

Bluewater Tackle has a braid

Sun, 2010-06-13 15:40

Bluewater Tackle has a braid called Zulu. Apparently its exactly the same as Fins but a fair bit cheaper.

Bluewater, and tackleworld,

Sun, 2010-06-13 18:00

Bluewater, and tackleworld, just specialise in knock off stuff.

Their instinct hook label look like the owner ones, but they're not. Their instinct line label looks like nitlon, but it isn't.

Stuff might look exactly the same, but it isn't.

Wow

Till, those are some pretty incindiary and almost defamatory statements there. If they were even close to true I might get a little fired up but obviously you are a bit confused. Bluewater and Tackleworld offer all levels of price pointed products so that any budget can be covered. The Instinct hook label looks nothing like the Owner and the Instinct hooks aren't meant to compete with owner as we have both. Instinct is for people who don't need japanese. I'm trying to find the Instinct line label you are talking about, I assume it is lexus mono?? Certainly Nothing like the full range of Nitlon we carry. I'm at the Scarborough store all day today and tomorrow if you want to discuss it further and Dodgy I have both the Fins and Zulu in store to compare. You will not find a difference other that the outside packaging and the fact Zulu is less cost and more line on a spool. Same colour, same spool, same thickness, both made in the United States etc etc You figure it out.

I think the word you're looking for is incendiary, and no, I'm not confused.

I do think the instinct label looks like the owner one, and there is some leader or braid in a look-alike packet for nitlon too.

Some stores have JM, you have powerjig.

I don't think the alikeness of the packets is accidental either.

Grasping at straws now. I don't know why you bother really. If you want to get into spell check you might want to look at your last sentence but it is neither here nor there. I see all the top brands use the same factories and re label the same product as their own. Lure designs you see today are just slight variations if that of classic patterns so what are you getting at? I guess each of these suppliers is just trying to be more competitive to combat cowboys and plonkers bringing in small batches of crap to make a quick buck without a thought for the industry, the sponsors of this site or the guys employed locally.
