Brainless or what?

Over the Easter break a young chap had to be taken down to Perth by the flying doctor for treatment for a shark bite to one of his heels.

Seems he was hand feeding and teasing a black tip reef shark with a fish frame up at Red Bluff when a wave knocked him over allowing the shark to bite his foot. Not sure if the ambos had to do the drive up there but its still a fair way to cart someone down either way and then for the aircraft to fly him down as well just because it was a "smart" thing to do.

To make matters worse, the next day another chap got bitten on a finger doing the same thing.

Is it just me in thinking that these people turn their brain off as soon as the leave on a holiday and do the stupidest things possible to get their trip to hospital or names in the papers.

Wonder

You have to wonder some times thats for sure.

We helped a couple of backpackers at Blowholes one day back 1999. These 2 guys had climbed down onto the bottom reef see to it close up. Swell come in these guys got smashed !!!  shorts no shirt and NO shoes. I have never seen so much blood on 2 people. 1 of the guys had to wedge himself against the wall of the blowhole to stop himself getting sucked down. would not have been a square inch that wasn't cut scratched or grazed. not real bright.........
