Bream on Fly

With the Swan River being pretty messed up this year I found it hard to consistently find the Bream. So I decided to get some practice on the fly gear.

Learning how to cast sitting in the canoe was quite a challenge and something I needed to do in preparation for Trout season. Last season I missed some nice fish because I couldn’t get the fly in front of cruising Trout.

I was very frustrated at first not getting even one hit the first few times out, but I persisted and finally got a small Bream right on dusk giving me the encouragement to keep at it.

So far this is the biggest one I’ve landed, not huge but a nice fat fish around the 30cm size that went pretty hard in the shallow water .

Persistance always pays off. You need to get up to my neck of the woods and have a bash for some salt water species.

Cheers for the kind words crew,

It's very hard to work out what to do with the many hours of footage i end up with. I think that keeping the videos short and to the point seems to work. I would like to do some more in depth videos for the people who want to watch them.

Having work rule my life dosn't give me much time anymore, so the humble Bream has been my go to target.
Getting them on the fly has been very satisfying for sure .
