British Female Rower Attempts Fremantle To Mauritius Crossing
You may have read in the West Australian almost 2 weeks ago about a young female who was attempting to row 3,100 miles solo from Fremantle to Mauritius.
She ended up departing Fremantle on Saturday 14th March and headed north of Rotnest and out into the wide blue yonder, at least as far as about 50 miles past Rotto ! ....
Only to find the Leeuwin Current !
This dragged her down South to almost Yallingup.
Now after 10 days of paddling covering nearly 500 miles, she is about 6 miles North of Rotto and only 16 miles from her point of departure in Fremantle !
So if you guy's are fishing the North side of Rotto or heading out to the FADS over the next few days, keep an eye out for a 5.9mtr white row boat with a single female paddling her heart out - Why not drop past and say g'day !!
Here's the link to her website and tracking info.....

That is funny just reading your post. Then I had a look at the tracker on her website and physically burst out laughing. That green line is going to be a thorn for her I reckon.

Drop by and say g'day
LOL at this post. Too funny.
With all the ground she has covered she would most probably be able to provide a very good Salmon report.

Yep... or Tuna, Mackies or Dollies............
I was doing photos of her prepraration and departure and suggested she throw in a rod or at the very least a handline, with a good selection of lures... bet she didn't take the advice !

Just had another look at the tracker and her speed went from 1knt to 9knt's..
Called up Fremantle Sea Rescue and sure enough she was under tow bound for Freo !
Apparently had electrical problems yesterday and decided to come in, get it fixed and have another crack possibly on Thursday...
Pretty damn keen.......... considering the trip is supposed to take about 110 days based on 30miles of paddling a day.
Anyway, for the lucky ones able to get out Thursday and Friday...keep a look out for rowboat somwhere out wide from Rotto to Lancelin !!

The Rotto swimmers were quicker
Having skippered a boat for the Rotto swim you have to ask whether she is rowing at all ?

Might just see here down south
If she's off again I may spot her down south in a week or two..LOL That is unless she gets towed outside the current this time... Silly girl. I read her blog and there is no way she is ready for this. She'd be better going back and rowing the English channel.

how long til she needs the Australian Navy to save her? These morons are all for the records and none of the responsibility if it goes bad...it's like my trying to drive my tinny to Maritius with nothing but the "necessary safety gear"...the inevitable is bound to happen...idiot IMO

My boat is named "Bite Me"
And Shelley Taylor-Smith and her relay team for the swim loved it - particularly given the shark sightings this year..........can't someone surrupticiously give this girl a tow
